The Means of Generating Income

The ICT and STEP Club are at it again. The ESTUDYANTEpreneur blasts right through and offers you different services and products as their means of generating income young as their minds are. These include; film viewing, food, and a photo booth.

Let us delve into their foods and services one by one. Starting off with film viewing. The film presented was entitled "Under The Tree Trunks." This showcased the undying love of a student to another. The lead, a female student, showed her crush where she destressed and layed her worries down. The male student dies due to bullying, leading to the attempt of taking the protagonist's own life. The story ends leaving her with hallucinations.

Up next, we got the foods offered. Food is actually one of the most common ways of making income. You can literally find it almost everywhere, convenience stores, karinderya, restaurants, many more. Most social media influencers focus on it too — mukbang.

Lastly we got the photo booth. Vibrant colors covers a board which serves as your background. Like other photo booths, they offer you different items to pick up as props. Mustache, sunglasses, and even captions.

All of these were presented by said clubs which are at a student-allowance-friendly price. Exchange your pocket money of the day into memories that'll last a lifetime.

Pink, Red, Maroon, and Other Shades

Pink letters, red roses, maroon gift wraps, we all know it's valentine's day. We see students express their love through these small tokens. Some give it and run away instantly because their shy, some stay and also take pictures with them if they are brave and open enough to do it, some just don't do anything either because they don't feel like it or they think that they don't have any 'chance to be with them' whatsoever. I am included with the latter one, I didn't do anything simply cause I was questioning myself. But this blog isn't centered to me, it is centered to the event.

Though gift giving does show affection, others prefer to show it using words or actions. Compliments, poems, dates, or anything that they enjoy doing—any hobby. These don't take form in an object, these take form in memories. Memories that would last a lifetime, memories that would make them smile when they randomly think about it at a random time, "The Good Old Times" some might say.

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government(SSLG) posted a dress code to show people about their current state. It includes being happy and contented, waiting for someone, ready to fall in love, and many more. I've observed that there were only few people who used red—the color usually used at this event.

In the end, new relationships were made. Labels, 'upgrade', mutual understanding, anything that shows intimacy. Some even stay 'lowkey', not telling the public that there's something going on, some even 'soft launch' where they slowly reveal who they've been talking to by showing an 'incomplete' picture of that person.

Since we're in high school, everyone deserves to do what they want. We're our own authors to the book of our memories. We all just need a little reminder to loose our tenses a little bit 'cause in the end, there would only be ourselves to blame if said book wasn't as happy as it could've been.

Kaleidoscope of Colors

The Ilocos Sur Festival, also known as Kannawidan Ilocos, rises onto the scene each year from the last week of January to the first week of February, bringing with it a spirit of joy, lively music, and brilliant colors. But the Ilocano people regard this yearly festival with great significance that goes beyond simple amusement. Knowing the worth of the celebrations helps to highlight their significance for the neighborhood.

First and foremost, Kannawidan Ilocos honors the anniversary of Ilocos Sur's establishment. The festival's events on February 2nd commemorates the province's founding and serves as a reminder of its rich past. The different events, including as dance competitions that showcase cultural practices and street parades that feature traditional costumes, all help to preserve the past and strengthen the Ilocanos' sense of identity.

Beyond honoring the past, the celebration is necessary for boosting the Ilocanos' deeply rooted spirituality. A mass and a procession with patron saints and religious images are usually part of the first celebration, which highlights the community's strong religious ties. The Ilocanos' emphasis on faith not only demonstrates the ideals that they uphold, but it also serves to bring people together in their various towns and municipalities.

Overall, Kannawidan Ilocos engages the younger generation in order to look towards the future. Aware of the potential threats associated with cultural separation, the festival includes youth-oriented programming. In addition to showcasing ancient talents, contests like the
Street Dance and Showdown Competition inspires younger people to pick up and continue these traditions. This emphasis on preserving the cultural legacy for upcoming generations guarantees its survival and fosters the growth of the Ilocano identity.

Second of The Four

It is that time of the school year again, writing about the moments we've had after a quarter studying. This one-fourth of the school calendar, we've taken part in Parol Making Contest, celebrated year-end party with pageant, used an entire week for the Zumba Mapeh Thematic, Marching Band, and many more. Throughout these events, we've created a bond that we wish not to be broken and we do know one thing, time will inevitably crush it.

Recently, we've been informed that school will end on May in order to bring back the previous opening month of school — trying to revert the effects brought by Covid-19. On the contrary, this means our time got lower limit, deducting two months of happiness. Sure, we're gonna find our own happiness in the near future, but to think of it, Covid already took two years of interaction with each other, how come they're gonna deduct another twelfth of it?

We find ourselves connected into a fabric of shared memories as we think back on the events and moments of this school quarter, from the Marching Band to the Parol Making Contest. These experiences have not only improved our educational journey but also created relationships that we hold in admiration. But learning that the school year would finish early comes with it a sad conclusion. In an attempt to resolve the issues raised by Covid-19, we have decided to return to the pre-pandemic opening month, although this will shorten our remaining time together.

Viva Vigan!

Situated in the scenic province of Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, Vigan is a vibrant representation of the nation's abundant cultural legacy and historical background. Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is well known for its distinctive blend of European and Asian elements, cobblestone streets, and exquisitely preserved Spanish colonial architecture. The city's colonial-era structures, which take visitors back in time to ancestral homes, churches, and museums, are what give it its beauty.
Vigan's colorful and festive event, the Longganisa Festival, adds to the city's charm. This yearly festival gives visitors and locals alike a chance to fully immerse themselves in the region's cultural festivities while showcasing the city's energy and passion for life. The vibrant parades, street dances, and cultural performances that make up the Longganisa Festival are all filled with the contagious spirit of the locals. The celebrations frequently include the traditional dancing, music, and food of the area, giving guests a vibrant and engaging experience.

I recently had the opportunity of attending the Sayaw, Talento at Galing ng Educators (STAGE) Competition, where educators displayed their remarkable abilities with captivating performances, fully immersing myself in the rich cultural scene of Vigan. A greater understanding of the relationship between education and art in Vigan was fostered by the educators' unwavering commitment and inventiveness.
Vigan's excitement also elevated before the STAGE Competition as the city welcomed the joyful rhythm of the Longganisa Festival Street Dancing Competition. Vibrant floats with elaborate decorations paraded down the cobblestone streets, escorted by lively dancers who skillfully combined customs with modern flare. The event was given a lively touch by the pounding beats and energetic dance, which resulted in an outstanding experience that precisely captured the joyful spirit of Vigan's cultural celebrations.

Watching the marching band and parade in Vigan, I was fascinated with the colorful exhibition of cultural diversity and historical significance. The cobblestone streets reverberated with the drums' rhythmic beat, generating a charming ambiance that skillfully combined celebration and tradition. The marching band's elaborate formations, complete with vibrant uniforms, demonstrated a tasteful blend of artistic and precise execution. With elaborate floats and traditional costumes, the procession told the story of the city's rich past one moment at a time, like a living tapestry. The sights and sounds of Vigan's procession created a lasting impression, honoring tradition in a magnificent and enthralling way. It was a sensory feast.

Vigan Fiesta, being vibrant and energetic, has brought people together showcasing the city's cultural legacy and history. From Spanish colonization, we've picked up parts of who we are today. These parts serves as our own function and it is as if we were painted by the nations who've landed in our country.
As my time at Vigan Fiesta drew to an end, I was struck by the city's ability to combine modern celebration with historical charm in a way that was truly unique. An amazing experience was made possible by the parade's grandeur, the marching bands' contagious excitement, and the elaborate float features. I will always remember the happy and friendly mood that was generated by the vivid colors, lively music, and kind locals.
The celebrations' intricate cultural tapestry stood as a monument to Vigan's dedication to maintaining its legacy. I couldn't help but think about how beautiful this UNESCO World Heritage City is and how well it has been able to blend tradition into the contemporary celebration as the marching band's final notes went away. My appreciation of Vigan's significance was enhanced by the authentic hospitality of the locals, the traditional dances, and the delicious food.
Along with me when I left Vigan were mementos and a feeling of gratitude for a city that has embraced the future while preserving its history. Vigan Fiesta was more than simply an event; it was a cultural celebration, a trip down memory lane, and a kind call to come back and discover the city's treasures once more. I was thankful to have had the chance to observe and take part in such a singular and culturally fascinating event as I was leaving.

Piso ng Sambayanang Pilipino

Jose Rizal, often regarded as the national hero of the Philippines, holds a significant place in the country's history as the face of its struggle for independence. Rizal's greatest contribution to Philippine society lies in his role as a catalyst for social and political change, advocating for national identity, education, and the pursuit of justice.

One of Rizal's key contributions was his literary prowess, evident in his novels, particularly "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo." Through these works, he exposed the social injustices and abuses prevalent during the Spanish colonial period. Rizal's writings served as a mirror, reflecting the harsh realities faced by the Filipino people and inspiring a sense of national consciousness.

Education held a special place in Rizal's heart, recognizing its transformative power. He emphasized the importance of education as a tool for enlightenment and empowerment. Rizal's advocacy for education manifested in his establishment of schools, like the La Liga Filipina, which aimed to promote intellectual development and unity among Filipinos. His vision for education laid the foundation for future generations to strive for knowledge and freedom.

Furthermore, Rizal's peaceful approach to reform is another hallmark of his contributions. Despite witnessing the injustices committed by the Spanish authorities, he advocated for change through peaceful means. Rizal's belief in the power of reason, dialogue, and education over violence inspired a legacy of non-violent resistance, influencing subsequent movements for independence.

In addition to his intellectual and educational contributions, Rizal's selfless dedication to the well-being of his people is evident in his medical practice. As a physician, he sought to alleviate the suffering of the poor and marginalized, showcasing a commitment to service and humanitarian values.

Summing up, Jose Rizal's greatest contribution to Philippine society lies in his multifaceted efforts to awaken the Filipino spirit and propel the nation toward independence. Through his literary works, advocacy for education, commitment to non-violent reform, and selfless service, Rizal became the embodiment of the Filipino struggle for identity, justice, and freedom. His enduring legacy continues to shape the nation's values and aspirations, making him the enduring face of the Philippines.

Alterations of The Year

As 2024 draws, I find myself at a point of both opportunity and difficulty. My main goals for this year are to control my worries, improve my time management for school-related tasks, and lead a life of thrift. My goals in addressing these areas are to promote academic achievement, personal development, and financial security.

Nervousness are frequently associated with the fast-paced modern lifestyle. Understanding the value of mental health, my main goal for 2024 is to create practical management techniques. This entails introducing calm exercises like crocheting, reading, and deep breathing into my everyday schedule. Spending more sweet memories with the ones we love can also ease this unsettling feeling. I also want to develop a good outlook by enjoying humble victories and having reasonable expectations. Maintaining a healthy mental state will require proactive measures like seeking qualified assistance when needed.

Improving time management skills is essential for students to succeed academically. My objective for 2024 is to improve how I approach learning and completing tasks. I'm going to make a thorough timetable and assign particular times for every work and topic. This will serve as a technique in order to grab these lessons which will be used for future studies. Focus and efficiency can be improved by adopting productivity tools and strategies like the Pomodoro Technique. In order to maintain a balanced and well-organized academic life, I also try to prioritize things according to their relevance and urgency.

Independence and stability are found on sound financial management. In order to reach my financial objectives and cut down on wasteful spending, I'm determined to live thriftily by 2024. This include setting up a budget to keep track of earnings and expenses, figuring out where savings can be made, and exercising caution when making impulsive purchases. Through cautious saving and investment, my goal is to create a stable financial base for the future.

The management of nervousness, effective use of time for academic purposes, and thrifty living are the strands that, when combined, form my intentions for 2024—a comprehensive strategy for personal growth. Through the promotion of emotions, academic achievement, and financial security, I hope to face the challenges of the coming year with perseverance and direction. I have no doubt that 2024 will be a year of development, education, and constructive change thanks to these fundamental plans.
